This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody, raised against the complement C1q subcomponent subunit B (C1q-B), is supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated reagent in 100 µl volume for research use only. C1q-B is one of three distinct chains that assemble into the 18-polypeptide C1q complex, the recognition subunit of the classical complement pathway that initiates the cascade by binding antibody-antigen complexes on cell surfaces. The reagent is validated for human samples and has been tested in Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows. The antibody is provided as a liquid aliquot and should be handled to limit freeze-thaw cycles in order to preserve polyclonal titer. Researchers studying classical pathway activation, complement-mediated inflammation, autoantibody-driven tissue injury such as lupus nephritis, or the immunological role of C1q in developmental synapse pruning commonly deploy this reagent.
