Anti-c-kit (Ab-936) Antibody

Raised in rabbit and purified by affinity chromatography against an epitope-specific peptide, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is designed to recognise c-Kit (also referred to as CD117, SCFR, PBT, mast/stem cell growth factor receptor, proto-oncogene c-Kit, p145 c-kit or tyrosine-protein kinase Kit) at the region surrounding residue Tyr936. The immunogen corresponds to the synthetic peptide H-I-Y-S-N, spanning amino acids 934–938 of the human c-Kit sequence, and the antibody specifically detects the endogenous total pool of c-Kit protein rather than a modified form only. Supplied as an unconjugated antiserum at 1.0 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the reagent is offered here in a 50 µL pack size and is intended for Western blotting and immunohistochemistry on human samples. For Western blot, the antibody cleanly resolves the ~145 kDa c-Kit band, while immunohistochemistry can be performed on suitably fixed tissue. The vial is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C upon arrival, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity.
