The c-Jun protein is the founding member of the JUN family of basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factors and a core component of the AP-1 complex, where it dimerizes with FOS family partners to regulate genes controlling proliferation, differentiation, and stress responses. This Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal antiserum was raised against an N-terminal fragment spanning amino acids 1 to 164 of human c-Jun, an epitope that sits within the conserved regulatory region used to study both basal expression and stress-induced activation. Because the antibody recognizes the native transcription factor alongside its N-terminally phosphorylated isoforms, it is a useful reagent for tracking JNK-pathway signaling together with total c-Jun protein levels in the same sample.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation, the reagent has been applied to lysates and tissue sections from human, mouse, and rat sources. Each vial is supplied as 50 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in phosphate-buffered saline at approximately pH 7.2, with 15 mM sodium azide as a preservative. For long-term use, store at -20 °C in small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity of the unconjugated antibody; a brief centrifugation step before pipetting helps recover the full volume from the vial.
