C-Fms (also called CSF1R or CD115) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that drives differentiation, survival, and proliferation of cells in the monocyte–macrophage lineage and is a defining marker of microglial cells in the central nervous system. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent targets c-Fms and is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows on samples from human, mouse, and rat origin. Researchers studying tumor-associated macrophages, osteoclastogenesis, or microglial activation in neurodegenerative disease models commonly use anti-c-Fms antibodies to profile receptor expression by immunoblotting cell or tissue lysates, and to detect soluble receptor forms in serum or culture supernatant by ELISA. The 100 µL vial size supports multiple experimental replicates, and the polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing the receptor even when expression is low or the epitope is partially degraded during sample preparation. The reagent can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent Western blot or quantitative ELISA readouts, and is suited to immunoprecipitation approaches that pull down the mature receptor from primary cells or cell lines. Provided by Antibodies.com as a research-use-only primary antibody.
