A polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit recognizes BTN1A1 and is supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 100 µl volume, intended for western blot workflows on mouse and rat samples.

BTN1A1 (butyrophilin subfamily 1 member A1) is a type I transmembrane immunoglobulin-domain protein best known for its role in milk fat droplet secretion from mammary epithelial cells, where it tethers the budding globule to the apical plasma membrane through association with xanthine oxidoreductase. More recent literature places BTN1A1 within the B7-like costimulatory family, and several groups now investigate it as a target of interest in epithelial-tissue immunology and γδ T-cell biology, including in tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte studies and cancer immunotherapy screens.

This primary antibody is provided as a polyclonal rabbit IgG in a 100 µl vial, unconjugated, and is validated for western blot detection of endogenous mouse and rat BTN1A1. Researchers studying lactation, mammary gland biology, adipocyte-mammary cross-talk, or butyrophilin-mediated immune modulation can use the reagent to probe BTN1A1 expression in tissue lysates and cell-line extracts. The polyclonal format supports recognition of multiple epitopes across the BTN1A1 extracellular and transmembrane regions, which can be helpful when probing denatured samples where a single monoclonal epitope may be lost.

Storage recommendation: aliquot upon receipt and store at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve IgG activity, and protect from light during handling. Brief equilibration on ice prior to blotting keeps the antibody stable during dilution into blocking and wash buffers. This product from Antibodies.com is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
