BST-2 (also known as Tetherin or CD317) is a type I interferon-induced transmembrane protein that physically tethers nascent enveloped virions to the surface of infected cells, and this rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the human form of the protein.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the reagent binds its target through polyclonal epitopes, allowing recognition of full-length BST-2 and its post-translationally modified glycoforms. The antibody is validated for western blot analysis of cell lysates and for ELISA workflows on human-derived samples, supporting research into innate antiviral immunity, viral restriction mechanisms, and B-cell biology.

BST-2 is constitutively expressed in plasma cells, hepatocytes, and several epithelial lineages, and is strongly upregulated by type I and type II interferons. For short-term handling, the vial should be refrigerated; for longer-term storage, aliquot the antibody and freeze at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. This primary antibody is intended for research use only.
