Anti-BPI Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets Bactericidal/Permeability-Increasing Protein (BPI), a ~55 kDa cationic antimicrobial protein expressed primarily in azurophilic granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum raised in rabbit and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human and mouse samples.

BPI neutralizes lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from Gram-negative bacteria through high-affinity binding and contributes to bacterial clearance as part of the innate immune response. Storage is recommended at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, with the unconjugated format permitting flexible conjugation to fluorophores, biotin, or enzymes as a downstream assay requires.
