This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds BMPR1A (Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor Type 1A), a single-pass transmembrane serine/threonine kinase of the TGF-β receptor superfamily also referenced as ALK3 and CD292. At the cell surface BMPR1A pairs with the type II receptor BMPR2 to recognize bone morphogenetic protein ligands BMP2, BMP4, BMP6, and BMP7, and the assembled complex propagates signal through phosphorylation of SMAD1, SMAD5, and SMAD8.

Validated for Western blot applications, the antibody is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antiserum at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.3. Raised in rabbit, it detects BMPR1A in human, mouse, and rat samples and supports cross-species comparison of receptor expression and BMP-pathway activation in cell-line and tissue lysates.

BMPR1A is a focus of research in skeletal and cartilage differentiation, intestinal epithelial renewal, vascular smooth muscle biology, and the germline mutations underlying juvenile polyposis syndrome. The azide-containing formulation is convenient for routine bench handling and short-term storage at 4 °C, and detection on immunoblots is straightforward with a standard HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary reagent.
