BMP10 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 10) is a secreted signaling molecule of the TGF-β superfamily, expressed almost exclusively in cardiomyocytes of the atrial and ventricular myocardium. The polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against BMP10, supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl aliquot validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples.

In developmental biology research, BMP10 is studied for its indispensable role in embryonic cardiogenesis, where it sustains proliferation of working cardiomyocytes through the ALK3 (BMPR1A) receptor complex. In adult hearts, the cytokine maintains cardiomyocyte identity and contractile homeostasis, and loss-of-function studies in murine models link BMP10 deficiency to rapid ventricular dilation and heart failure. The ligand has also been investigated in pulmonary arterial hypertension and in calcific aortic valve disease, where altered BMP10 expression has been reported in patient tissue.

Researchers using this unconjugated polyclonal reagent can probe endogenous BMP10 levels in cardiac lysates by WB and visualize spatial distribution in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded cardiac sections by IHC, supporting studies of cardiac hypertrophy, congenital heart defects, and stress-response signaling in cardiovascular research.
