Raised in rabbit against Bone Morphogenetic Protein 10, this Antibodies.com polyclonal primary reagent recognizes a TGF-β superfamily ligand that is expressed almost exclusively in the myocardium. BMP10 drives embryonic cardiomyocyte proliferation and chamber maturation through SMAD1/5/8 signaling and remains a key marker of adult atrial identity in cardiovascular research.

Validated for Western blot on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, the antibody is used on cardiac tissue lysates and cardiomyocyte-derived cell lines, where it yields a discrete immunoreactive band near the predicted precursor molecular weight of approximately 48 kDa. It is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/mL in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, as a 100 µL vial that can be diluted directly into blocking buffer for immunoblotting.

The 50% glycerol formulation protects the antibody from freeze-thaw damage, so the stock can be stored at -20 °C long term and kept at 4 °C for routine bench use. Researchers deploy anti-BMP10 probes to track atrial specification in developmental studies, to monitor Notch1/HES1/HEY1 axis activity, and to benchmark iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte maturation alongside BMP9 and BMP2 controls.
