BMI1 (B cell-specific Moloney murine leukemia virus integration site 1, also known as PCGF4 or RNF51) acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase that monoubiquitinates histone H2A at lysine 119, driving chromatin compaction and silencing of the INK4a/ARF locus. The protein is widely investigated for its contributions to hematopoietic and neural stem cell self-renewal, senescence bypass, and the epigenetic reprogramming observed in lymphoma, breast, colorectal, and lung cancers. Researchers apply this clone to track BMI1 expression, post-translational modification, and complex assembly in cell lysates and tissue extracts.
