BMI1 (B cell-specific Moloney murine leukemia virus integration site 1) is a core component of the Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 (PRC1), functioning as a chromatin-associated transcriptional repressor that monoubiquitinates histone H2A at Lys119. Aberrant BMI1 expression is implicated in chromatin regulation, stem cell self-renewal, and oncogenic reprogramming across multiple tissue contexts. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl aliquot. The antibody has been validated for Western blot detection of the ~36 kDa BMI1 polypeptide, for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed sections, and for immunofluorescence staining. It shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of Polycomb-mediated gene silencing, developmental biology, and cancer signaling research using in vitro and in vivo model systems.
