BIRC7 (also known as Livin or ML-IAP) is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein family, characterized by a single baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domain and a C-terminal RING finger motif. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is provided as an unconjugated, affinity-purified reagent supplied in a 100 µl volume.
The reagent specifically detects the human BIRC7 protein and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry applications, making it useful for studies of melanoma, lymphoma, and other tumor models in which aberrant IAP expression has been reported. Researchers can apply it to fixed tissue sections for IHC-based localization of BIRC7 in the cytoplasm, or use it to probe lysates prepared from cultured human cells on western blot membranes.
Because the antibody recognizes endogenous human BIRC7, it supports investigations into apoptosis regulation, drug resistance mechanisms, and the differential expression of the Livin-α and Livin-β isoforms reported in cancer cell lines.
