Anti-BIRC2 Antibody

This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes human BIRC2, also known as cIAP1 or HIAP2, a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein family characterized by its baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domains and a C-terminal RING finger motif that confers E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of purified immunoglobulin formulated in 0.1M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4) with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, and is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous BIRC2 expression in human cell lysates. Because BIRC2 functions as a regulator of caspase activity and a positive modulator of canonical NF-κB signaling downstream of TNF receptor engagement, the antibody is well suited to studies of apoptosis resistance, inflammatory signaling, and tumor cell survival. The monoclonal format provides lot-to-lot consistency for reproducible immunoblotting of total BIRC2 levels across comparative panels of human cell lines or primary tissue extracts.
