Supplied by Antibodies.com, this Rabbit polyclonal antibody targets BID (BH3-interacting domain death agonist, also known as p22 BID), a pro-apoptotic BCL-2 family member widely studied in intrinsic apoptosis research. The reagent is raised against recombinant human BID protein and, following affinity purification with the immunogen, detects endogenous levels of total BID. It is offered at the 50 µl pack size as an unconjugated, liquid-format antibody at 1.0 mg/mL, prepared in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol for stability. The host species is Rabbit and the clonality is Polyclonal, and the antibody has been validated for use in Western Blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) workflows across Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. Recommended handling is straightforward: the product is shipped at 4 °C and, on arrival, should be aliquoted and stored at −20 °C with freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. Suitable applications include western blotting of cell lysates to monitor BID cleavage (for example, into truncated tBID) and immunofluorescence staining to visualise subcellular localisation of BID in cultured cells. The reagent is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, making it well suited to academic and industry laboratories investigating mitochondrial apoptosis, BCL-2 family signalling, or caspase-8–mediated death receptor pathways.
