Raised in rabbit against the BID protein, this polyclonal primary antibody supports apoptosis research workflows that probe BH3-only protein behavior at the mitochondrial checkpoint. BID is a BH3-interacting domain death agonist of the BCL-2 family: full-length BID is cleaved by caspase-8 at Asp59 to generate truncated BID (tBID), which then translocates to the mitochondria and activates BAX and BAK, driving cytochrome c release and engagement of the intrinsic apoptosis pathway.

Produced by Antibodies.com and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, the reagent is supplied as an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal in a 100 µl volume. The unconjugated format lets investigators pair it with their own HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary, while the polyclonal profile broadens epitope coverage across the BID sequence—useful for tracking both the full-length p22 form and the truncated p15 tBID fragment in cell lysates or fixed tissue sections.

For storage and handling, keep the antibody frozen at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, protect from light, and return it promptly to freezer conditions between uses; brief handling at 4°C is acceptable during an experiment.
