Produced in rabbit and specific for human BGLAP, this polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated IgG and supports Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.

BGLAP (Bone Gamma-Carboxyglutamate Protein), commonly called osteocalcin, is a secreted osteoblast marker central to bone mineralization and a widely studied biomarker of bone turnover. Altered circulating levels are associated with postmenopausal osteoporosis, glucocorticoid therapy, and chronic kidney disease–mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD), while undercarboxylated osteocalcin has been linked to glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes and to male reproductive biology. This polyclonal reagent detects endogenous human BGLAP in bone sections, renal tissue, vascular endothelium, and osteoblast cell lysates, fitting chromogenic IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) material alongside immunoblotting of cell or tissue lysates.

The unconjugated format leaves the antibody free for downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorescent dyes, accommodating chromogenic, immunofluorescence, and electron-microscopy detection strategies. Supplied in a vial, it should be refrigerated upon receipt, aliquoted to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and stored frozen for long-term stability. For research use only.
