BFSP1 (filensin) is a cytoskeletal structural protein expressed almost exclusively in the ocular lens, where it co-assembles with phakinin (BFSP2) to build the beaded intermediate filaments that give lens fiber cells their mechanical stability and optical clarity. Coding variants in the BFSP1 locus have been linked to multiple inherited cataract syndromes, which makes a clean, well-validated anti-filensin reagent a recurring need for vision research, lens development studies, and ocular disease models.
This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against the human filensin sequence, affinity-purified and supplied unconjugated as 50 µL of antiserum in a single vial, validated specifically for western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples. To preserve activity, aliquot on first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store the working portion refrigerated at 4 °C with a longer-term stock at -20 °C, protected from light. Intended for research use only.
