Inside the mitochondrial matrix, the beta subunit of electron transfer flavoprotein (beta-ETF) shuttles electrons from several acyl-CoA dehydrogenases to the membrane-bound ETF:ubiquinone oxidoreductase during fatty acid oxidation. Mutations in the ETFB gene are linked to multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (MADD), also known as glutaric acidemia type II.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is provided as a 100 µl volume and was raised against the human beta-ETF protein. It is validated for western blot and immunofluorescence, supporting detection of the endogenous ~28 kDa subunit in human cell and tissue samples. Because it is polyclonal, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes, which is helpful when probing denatured lysates for ETF complex expression, studying mitochondrial protein import, or characterizing patient-derived fibroblasts from suspected MADD cases.

The unconjugated format allows pairing with secondary reagents matched to the user's preferred detection chemistry (HRP, fluorophore, or biotin), giving flexibility for western blot imaging and immunofluorescence colocalization with mitochondrial markers.
