Anti-beta Amyloid Peptide 42 Antibody [NT 7H7]

This mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as a lyophilised 100 µg aliquot and recognises the 42-amino-acid isoform of beta amyloid peptide (Aβ42) through the NT 7H7 clone. The epitope recognised by this antibody maps to an N-terminal region of the peptide, allowing researchers to distinguish Aβ42 from the shorter Aβ40 species.

Aβ42 is the longer, more aggregation-prone cleavage product of amyloid precursor protein (APP) and is the principal species deposited in senile amyloid plaques characteristic of Alzheimer's disease. Use this unconjugated primary antibody in ELISA-based quantification of Aβ42 in cell culture supernatants, tissue lysates, and other research samples, or to characterise APP processing in disease models. Reactivity has been established against human Aβ42, with minimal cross-reactivity reported for shorter amyloid-beta isoforms.
