Anti-BEST1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified as a polyclonal IgG, this unconjugated antibody targets Bestrophin-1 (BEST1), a calcium-activated chloride channel that localizes to the basolateral membrane of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). The reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com as 50 µl of polyclonal serum and is validated for Western Blot (WB) detection of both human and mouse BEST1, supporting cross-species studies of retinal physiology and channel protein expression. Investigators working on Best vitelliform macular dystrophy (BVMD), adult-onset vitelliform macular dystrophy, or autosomal recessive bestrophinopathy use this antibody to characterize endogenous BEST1 levels in RPE lysates and heterologous expression systems. For handling, aliquot on arrival and store at 4°C for short-term use, or freeze at -20°C for longer-term stability; standard anti-rabbit HRP or fluorescent secondary reagents are recommended for chemiluminescent or fluorescent western blot workflows.
