Beclin 1 (BECN1) is a ~60 kDa coiled-coil protein that nucleates autophagosome formation by recruiting the class III PI3K complex to cellular membranes, and it remains one of the most widely monitored markers of bulk autophagy in biomedical research. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes endogenous Beclin 1 in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of purified immunoglobulin formulated in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4) with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide as a microbial preservative, and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant.

Investigators working on tumor biology, neurodegeneration, metabolic disease, or host-pathogen interactions routinely probe Beclin 1 expression to track autophagic flux and to dissect the crosstalk between autophagy and apoptosis. Aliquot the antibody on receipt to limit freeze-thaw exposure, then store the vial frozen at -20 °C; the glycerol-supplemented buffer keeps the immunoglobulin stable for repeated Western blot runs. Because the antibody is unconjugated, users retain full flexibility to pair it with their preferred HRP, fluorescent, or biotinylated secondary reagents, and to optimize chemiluminescent or multiplex detection conditions to match the linear range of their imaging system.
