Anti-BDNF Antibody

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a secreted neurotrophin that drives neuronal survival, dendritic growth, and long-term synaptic plasticity throughout the central and peripheral nervous system. The recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent offered by Antibodies.com binds the BDNF target and is supplied as an unconjugated preparation at 100 µl, suspended in 1×TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as a stabilizing preservative.

Validated applications include western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunocytochemistry / immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) on tissue sections and cultured cells derived from human, mouse, and rat specimens. The antibody is routinely used to map BDNF distribution in hippocampus and cortex, to track activity-dependent neurotrophin release in primary neuron culture, and to characterize TrkB-mediated signalling in neuropathic pain and neurodegeneration models.
