The Bcr protein is a GTPase-activating signaling molecule best known for its role in the Philadelphia chromosome translocation, where its fusion with Abl tyrosine kinase drives leukemogenesis in chronic myeloid leukemia. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com binds an epitope centered around residue 177 of human Bcr and is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows against both human and mouse samples.
Supplied as a 100 µl aliquot of affinity-purified antiserum, the antibody enables researchers to track endogenous Bcr expression, study BCR-ABL signaling dynamics in transfected cell models, and probe the spatial distribution of Bcr in fixed-cell imaging. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of detecting the target even when post-translational modifications or minor conformational changes occur near the recognition site, and the unconjugated presentation supports downstream flexibility: investigators can pair the reagent with their own choice of HRP, fluorophore, or biotin secondary labels depending on whether they are running chemiluminescent blots, immunofluorescence imaging, or pull-down assays.
Because Bcr participates in actin cytoskeleton remodeling and RAC-mediated signal transduction in addition to its fusion-driven role in hematologic malignancies, this reagent is equally useful for groups studying neuronal signaling, platelet cytoskeletal regulation, and oncogenic transformation pathways. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots helps preserve antibody activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the unconjugated format means the same vial can serve multiple projects over its usable shelf life.
