Anti-BCL2L2 Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com as a rabbit polyclonal reagent, this primary antibody recognizes BCL2L2, also called BCL-W, an anti-apoptotic member of the BCL-2 protein family that localizes to the mitochondrial outer membrane. It is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications, with reactivity confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples.

BCL2L2 sequesters pro-apoptotic BAX and BAK, blocks cytochrome c release, and has been linked to tumor progression in colorectal, breast, lung, and gastric cancers as well as in glioblastoma cell-line panels. In neuroscience research, BCL-W supports neuronal survival after axonal injury and ischemia-reperfusion, and the antibody has been applied to rat brain sections in stroke-model studies. The polyclonal format increases the chance of detecting multiple epitopes on the approximately 22 kDa target, and the unconjugated format lets researchers pair it with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies of their choice.

Practical handling: store frozen at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light during chromogenic detection steps. Brief centrifugation before use recovers the full volume from the vial.
