Anti-Bcl2 Antibody

An unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent targeting the anti-apoptotic mitochondrial membrane protein Bcl-2, supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µl liquid aliquot. The antibody is raised against a synthetic peptide mapping within the first 100 amino acids of human Bcl-2 (NP_000624.2) and is affinity purified to minimize off-target reactivity.

Bcl-2 is a ~26 kDa protein originally characterized at the t(14;18) chromosomal breakpoint in follicular B-cell lymphoma, where it preserves cell survival by restraining BAX and BAK activation at the outer mitochondrial membrane. The reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation on human, mouse, and rat samples. Recommended starting dilutions are 1:500–1:1,000 for western blot and immunoprecipitation, and 1:50–1:200 for IHC and ICC/IF staining, with microwave antigen retrieval in 10 mM PBS pH 7.2 advised before IHC.

Formulated in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.3) with 50% glycerol and 0.05% Proclin 300 as preservative. Vials are shipped at 4 °C; upon arrival, aliquot and store at -20 °C and avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity.
