Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal IgG preparation, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes the C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factor BCL11A, encoded on chromosome 2p16.1 and best characterized as a repressor of fetal hemoglobin (HbF) in adult erythroid cells. The reagent is supplied at 100 µl per vial in a PBS-based buffer containing 150 mM NaCl, 50% glycerol, and 0.02% sodium azide, with the IgG fraction affinity-purified against a recombinant human BCL11A immunogen. Validated for western blot detection in human and mouse samples, the antibody detects endogenous levels of total BCL11A protein, including the band routinely observed between 90 and 120 kDa in hematopoietic and lymphoid lysates such as Jurkat, Raji, and Daudi cell lines.

The reagent supports researchers working on gamma-globin switching, HbF reactivation strategies relevant to sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia, BCL11A-dependent transcriptional programs, and the role of BCL11A in B-cell development and lymphoid malignancies. It can be used for protein-level confirmation of knockdown, knockout, or overexpression experiments in cell culture models, primary lymphocytes, and relevant tissue preparations. Upon arrival, aliquot the vial and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity; brief shipment at 4 °C is tolerated before the aliquot is placed in the freezer.
