Bcl-X (also known as Bcl-xL) is a member of the Bcl-2 family of apoptosis regulators, with the long isoform anchored to the outer mitochondrial membrane where it suppresses programmed cell death. Antibodies.com provides this rabbit polyclonal reagent, which specifically recognizes Bcl-X when phosphorylated at threonine 47 within the regulatory loop region of the protein, enabling researchers to monitor this modification in cell lysates and tissue sections. The antibody is supplied unconjugated as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. It has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) and shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting use across comparative studies in cancer biology, neuroscience, and cardiovascular research where mitochondrial apoptosis is under investigation. Phospho-specific Bcl-xL detection is commonly applied to probe stress signaling cascades, ischemic cell death pathways, and the response of tumor cells to chemotherapeutic challenge. For long-term use, the antibody should be stored in single-use aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, since phospho-epitope recognition is sensitive to handling and storage temperature.
