Offered by Antibodies.com as part of their Primary Antibodies catalogue, this Rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against Bcl-x (also known as BCL2L1 / Bcl-2-like protein 1), the anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family member that controls mitochondrial cytochrome c release and downstream caspase activation. The antibody was generated against a synthesized peptide derived from the human Bcl-x sequence and is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific affinity chromatography, giving a reagent that recognizes endogenous levels of Bcl-x across a broad panel of samples. It is supplied as a 50 µl liquid formulation at approximately 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.02% sodium azide, and is unconjugated, so it can be paired with any HRP, biotin or fluorophore-labelled secondary of choice. The host species is Rabbit, the clonality is Polyclonal, and the isotype is IgG. Validated applications include Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and ELISA, with recommended working dilutions typically in the 1:500–1:2000 range for WB, 1:50–1:200 for IHC, and 1:5,000–1:20,000 for ELISA. Reactivity has been confirmed in Human, Mouse and Rat samples, making the reagent suitable for cross-species studies of apoptosis regulation, mitochondrial biology and oncology. For short-term use the vial should be kept refrigerated at 2–8 °C, while long-term storage at –20 °C in small aliquots is recommended to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. The product is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
