This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against human butyrylcholinesterase (BCHE), validated for Western blot (WB) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) applications. It was generated by immunising rabbits with a recombinant human BCHE protein and was subsequently affinity-purified using that same immunogen, which gives the reagent high specificity for the endogenous total BCHE target across human, mouse, and rat samples. The antibody is supplied unconjugated in a 50 µL aliquot at a working concentration of 1.0 mg/mL, formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) at pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative, and 50% glycerol for stability. For shipping and handling, vials are dispatched cold at 4 °C; upon receipt the antibody should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. The polyclonal nature of the reagent means that it contains a heterogeneous pool of immunoglobulin specificities directed at multiple epitopes of BCHE, which is useful for recognising the full-length protein (also known as acylhydrolase, butyrylcholine esterase, CHE1, choline esterase II, cholinesterase, and pseudocholinesterase) in lysate and cell-based assays. Orders are fulfilled from St. Louis, MO, with a typical lead time of 6–9 business days, and the product is intended for research use only.
