Butyrylcholinesterase (BCHE) is a serine hydrolase expressed in liver and nervous tissue that hydrolyzes choline esters and several anesthetic substrates. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is provided at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide (approx. pH 7.2) and is raised against BCHE. It has been validated for western blot and immunofluorescence in human, mouse, and rat samples. Each vial contains 100 µL and can be used to detect endogenous BCHE in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections. The sodium azide preservative permits refrigerated storage at 4 °C and long-term freezing at -20 °C in working aliquots to preserve activity. Researchers studying hepatic cholinesterase activity, organophosphate metabolism, or Alzheimer's-associated cholinergic changes can apply this reagent in western blot and immunofluorescence assays to map BCHE expression across model systems.
