From Antibodies.com, this rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent targets BCAR1 (also called p130Cas), a focal-adhesion scaffold protein that integrates integrin and growth-factor signaling with cytoskeletal remodeling. The unconjugated antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit serum and recognizes an epitope conserved across human, mouse, and rat samples, enabling cross-species studies of cell migration, mechanotransduction, and adhesion-dependent signaling in normal and tumor-derived cells.

Validated for western blot analysis, the reagent detects endogenous p130Cas, which migrates near 130 kDa on standard SDS-PAGE gels; the broad band often shifts upward when Src-family kinases phosphorylate the protein's substrate domain, providing a useful readout of adhesion-driven activation in cell lysates. It also performs in immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, allowing researchers to localize the protein in tissue architecture. Supplied as 100 µl per vial, the product is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. For stability, store frozen at -20 °C in single-use aliquots, protect from light, and limit freeze-thaw cycles; briefly refrigerated working stocks are acceptable for short-term use.
