Gamma-butyrobetaine dioxygenase 1 (BBOX1) is the 2-oxoglutarate-dependent enzyme that carries out the final hydroxylation step of the carnitine biosynthesis pathway, converting gamma-butyrobetaine into L-carnitine. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against BBOX1 and is validated for Western blot (WB) detection of the endogenous protein in human and mouse samples. Researchers investigating hepatic or renal carnitine metabolism, mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation, or inherited and acquired metabolic disorders use this reagent to probe BBOX1 expression at the protein level.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide as a preservative and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, giving the vial freeze-thaw stability for repeated use across multiple blotting experiments. The polyclonal format offers epitope diversity useful for capturing different regions of the BBOX1 target, and the unconjugated presentation lets researchers pair it with their preferred HRP- or fluorophore-labelled secondary reagent of choice.

For best results, store the vial refrigerated, protect from light, and handle on ice to preserve activity. The reagent is intended for research use only and supports downstream applications that interrogate carnitine pathway regulation in cell lines and primary tissue lysates.
