Anti-BBC3 Antibody

The antibody recognizes BBC3 (also known as PUMA), a BH3-only pro-apoptotic member of the BCL-2 protein family that mediates both p53-dependent and p53-independent apoptosis. Raised in rabbit and purified as an IgG polyclonal reagent, it is supplied unconjugated in a 50 µl volume and is validated for western blot detection of endogenous BBC3 in human, mouse, and rat samples.

BBC3 induction is commonly examined in studies of chemotherapeutic cytotoxicity, DNA damage responses, mitochondrial apoptosis signaling, and tumor suppressor pathway activation. Standard western blot workflows involve lysing cells or tissues in RIPA buffer with protease inhibitors, separating proteins by SDS-PAGE, and transferring to PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes before probing with the primary antibody and an appropriate HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagent.

For storage, the antibody should be kept refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use; for longer periods, aliquot and store frozen to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade IgG.
