Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against the pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family member Bax and is supplied as a 50 µL aliquot at 1 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺), pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol. The antibody was generated using a recombinant human Bax immunogen and purified by affinity chromatography, yielding an unconjugated preparation that recognises endogenous levels of total Bax protein. It is validated for Western blotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), and cross-reactivity has been confirmed in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, making it a versatile choice for apoptosis research across standard model systems. Recommended long-term storage is at –20 °C to preserve activity, and the product is intended for research use only and not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Western blot data on the supplier datasheet were generated using extracts of a mouse liver cell line, while the immunohistochemistry validation was performed on paraffin-embedded rat lung tissue at a 1:200 dilution, illustrating robust cytoplasmic and tissue staining patterns consistent with the expected distribution of Bax. With its polyclonal profile, broad mammalian reactivity, and flexible buffer formulation, the antibody is well suited to laboratories investigating mitochondrial apoptosis pathways, Bcl-2/Bax balance, and related cell-death signalling studies.
