Bax (Bcl-2-associated X protein) is a pro-apoptotic regulator of the Bcl-2 family that governs the intrinsic mitochondrial pathway of programmed cell death by promoting mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization and cytochrome c release. This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent and binds the full-length Bax target at its native molecular weight of approximately 21 kDa.

Validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows, the antibody detects endogenous Bax in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting apoptosis studies, tumor biology research, and investigations into neurodegenerative and ischemic disease models where Bax-mediated cell death is implicated. The unconjugated IgG is supplied as 100 µL of stock in a vial, allowing flexible dilution for chromogenic, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent detection depending on the chosen secondary antibody.

Researchers commonly use this reagent to monitor apoptotic signaling, follow changes in Bax expression following drug treatment, and map protein localization across tissue sections. Aliquot the reagent upon receipt and store frozen to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity across long-running studies.
