BAP1 (BRCA1-Associated Protein 1) is a nuclear deubiquitinating enzyme and tumor suppressor that regulates chromatin remodeling, DNA damage response, and cell cycle progression. Loss-of-function alterations in BAP1 are implicated in BAP1 tumor predisposition syndrome and are frequently observed in mesothelioma, uveal melanoma, clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and cholangiocarcinoma.
