BCL2 Antagonist/Killer 1 (BAK1) is a pro-apoptotic member of the BCL-2 protein family that drives cytochrome c release through outer mitochondrial membrane permeabilization during intrinsic apoptosis. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against human BAK1 and supports detection in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. For research use only.
Applications include probing BAK1 expression in cell lysates and fixed tissue sections, with 200 µl of polyclonal serum supplied per vial. BAK1 acts redundantly with BAX to form oligomeric pores in the mitochondrial outer membrane, making this antibody relevant to studies of programmed cell death, tumor biology, and DNA damage response pathways. The unconjugated format gives flexibility to pair it with secondary antibodies of choice.
