The BAG5 protein (BCL2-associated athanogene 5) functions as a nucleotide exchange factor and co-chaperone that modulates Hsp70/HSC70 ATPase activity, and it has been investigated in neurodegeneration research, including its interaction with parkin and its accumulation in Lewy bodies. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and recognizes BAG5 in both human and mouse samples, supporting comparative studies between the two species.

Validated applications include Western blot for detection of BAG5 in cell and tissue lysates, and immunohistochemistry for localization work on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. The antibody is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged as a 100 µl volume in a vial. Store refrigerated; the 50% glycerol cryoprotectant guards the reagent against freeze-thaw damage, and sodium azide serves as a preservative. For research use only, this primary antibody supports laboratory investigations of BAG family co-chaperone biology, mitochondrial stress responses, and protein aggregation pathways.
