The phospho-specific antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes Bad only when serine 112 is phosphorylated, a modification linked to survival signaling through the Akt and RSK pathways. Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal IgG preparation and supplied unconjugated in a 50 µl vial, the reagent is validated for western blot detection of endogenous Bad (phospho S112) in lysates prepared from human, mouse, and rat samples.
Because the epitope is the phosphorylated residue itself, the antibody selectively reports on the inactive, cytoplasmic pool of Bad and is commonly used in apoptosis research to monitor growth-factor-driven survival cues. Recommended handling includes brief storage at 4 °C for short-term use and freezing at -20 °C in small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve phospho-epitope recognition.
