Anti-Bad (phospho S112) Antibody

Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG antibody specifically recognizes the Bad pro-apoptotic protein only when phosphorylated at serine 112 (phospho S112). Bad is a BH3-only member of the Bcl-2 family that promotes cytochrome c release from mitochondria and drives the intrinsic apoptotic cascade; phosphorylation at S112 by kinases such as Akt/PKB and RSK1 creates a 14-3-3 binding motif, sequestering Bad in the cytosol and shifting the balance away from programmed cell death. The reagent is validated for Western Blot and shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative apoptosis research across standard cell-line and tissue-model systems.
