Anti-BAD (Ab-112) Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal reagent is raised against BAD and is designed to detect endogenous levels of total BAD protein. The antibody was generated by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues around amino acids 110–114 (H-S-S-Y-P) of mouse BAD, and was subsequently purified by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific peptide. Supplied at a concentration of 1.0 mg/mL, the product is formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺) at pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. The 50 µL aliquot is unconjugated and is shipped at 4 °C; upon receipt it should be stored at –20 °C with freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. The antibody has been validated for Western blotting and immunohistochemistry on human samples, with recommended dilutions of 1:500–1:1000 for WB and 1:50–1:100 for IHC. Recognising the region surrounding serine 112 of the BAD protein, it allows researchers to monitor total BAD expression independent of its phosphorylation status, making it a useful tool for apoptosis and cell-signalling studies.
