B4GALT7 (β-1,4-galactosyltransferase 7) is a resident Golgi glycosyltransferase which initiates glycosaminoglycan chain assembly by transferring galactose from UDP-galactose onto xylose residues within the tetrasaccharide linkage region of proteoglycan core proteins. Loss-of-function variants in B4GALT7 have been linked to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome progeroid type 2 (EDSP2) and to connective tissue phenotypes affecting the extracellular matrix, placing the enzyme at the centre of glycobiology, matrix biology, and inherited connective tissue disorder research.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent, distributed by Antibodies.com, was raised against the human B4GALT7 protein and validated for Western blot detection in human and mouse samples. It is therefore suited to studies on proteoglycan biosynthesis, linker tetrasaccharide formation, basement membrane biology, and cellular models of EDSP2-related matrix defects.

The antibody is supplied as a 200 µl liquid aliquot. For handling, it should be stored at -20 °C in small working aliquots to limit loss of activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only.
