A rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody raised against B3GALTL (beta-1,3-glucosyltransferase-like), supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated 50 µL reagent validated for Western Blot detection of the human target protein.

B3GALTL is a Golgi/ER-resident glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of glucose to O-linked fucose within thrombospondin type-1 repeats, a step required for proper biosynthesis of the Glcβ1-3Fuc disaccharide. Loss-of-function mutations in B3GALTL cause Peters-plus syndrome (MIM #261540), a congenital disorder of glycosylation characterized by Peters anomaly of the anterior eye chamber, short stature, brachydactyly, cleft lip and palate, and facial dysmorphism.

Researchers use this reagent to examine B3GALTL expression in patient-derived fibroblasts, CRISPR knock-out cell lines, and tissue lysates, probing the protein's predicted ~56 kDa band by immunoblotting under standard reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. The antibody is provided as a 50 µL vial of liquid polyclonal antiserum; store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and is intended for research use only in studies of O-glycosylation pathways, congenital disorders of glycosylation, and ocular morphogenesis.
