Azurocidin 1 (AZU1) is a cationic antimicrobial protein stored in the azurophil granules of neutrophils, where it contributes to innate immune defense against bacteria and fungi. This unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit hosts and recognizes the AZU1 target in both human and mouse samples. Reported applications include western blot for protein-level detection in cell and tissue lysates, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) for localization studies on fixed tissue sections. Each vial contains 100 µl of liquid stock intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

AZU1 has been investigated in research on neutrophil biology, sepsis, acute lung injury, and the tumor microenvironment, where its chemotactic activity for monocytes and role in vascular remodeling have drawn interest. The antibody is suitable for standard SDS-PAGE western blot workflows and for IHC on fixed tissue. Refrigerate the vial upon arrival; for extended storage, aliquot and freeze, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve reactivity. Researchers should empirically determine optimal dilutions in their own detection systems.
