The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody targets zinc-alpha-2-glycoprotein (ZAG), a soluble adipokine implicated in lipid mobilization, body-weight regulation, and the cachexia seen in advanced cancers such as prostate, breast, and pancreatic disease. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated, protein-A purified reagent in a 100 µL vial, the antibody binds native and denatured human AZGP1 in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

ZAG is secreted by adipocytes and hepatocytes and appears at measurable concentrations in circulation, where it correlates with adiposity, insulin sensitivity, and tumor progression in certain patient cohorts. Researchers use anti-AZGP1 reagents to map expression in tissue sections, characterize secretion pathways from adipocyte cell-culture models, and validate AZGP1 abundance in conditioned media and tumor lysates by western blot. Because the antigen is conserved but not identical across mammals, formal cross-reactivity data with non-human species is not part of the validated package, so human samples and tissues remain the primary intended application.

For handling, keep the vial refrigerated between uses to preserve antibody activity, with aliquoting recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light when working with downstream conjugated secondary reagents. Brief centrifugation before opening recovers the full 100 µL volume from the container.
