The AUP1 protein (Ancient Ubiquitous Protein 1) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein anchored in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane, where it participates in lipid droplet biogenesis, triglyceride mobilization, and ER-associated degradation (ERAD) of misfolded proteins. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against a region of human AUP1 and detects the endogenous target across denaturing and fixed-tissue workflows.
Validated applications include Western Blot (WB) of cell lysates and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, supporting research into hepatic lipid handling, UBE2G2-dependent ubiquitination pathways, and ER stress responses. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µL of polyclonal antiserum, compatible with standard HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chromogenic or fluorescence detection in research use only settings.
