ATXN1 (Ataxin-1) is the protein implicated in Spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1), a polyglutamine expansion disorder characterized by progressive cerebellar degeneration and motor dysfunction. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes human, mouse, and rat Ataxin-1, supporting cross-species studies of neurodegenerative pathways, transcriptional regulation, and RNA-binding protein interactions involving the AXH domain.
Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF), the reagent enables investigation of Ataxin-1 expression patterns in brain tissue, neuronal cell lines, and relevant disease models. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the Ataxin-1 protein, which is useful when characterizing polyglutamine-expanded variants and protein aggregation phenomena.
Supplied at 50 µl volume as a research use only reagent, the antibody is unconjugated to allow flexible pairing with secondary labels of the researcher's choice.
