This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal IgG raised against ATXN1 (Ataxin-1), the polyglutamine-domain protein whose CAG-repeat expansion in the ATXN1 gene causes Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 1 (SCA1) through cerebellar Purkinje-neuron dysfunction. Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent, the antibody is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows, supporting detection of Ataxin-1 in cell or tissue lysates and visualization of its nuclear and cytoplasmic localization in fixed neuronal preparations. Cross-reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing translational comparisons between patient-derived tissue and rodent SCA1 models. The polyclonal response against the AXH-domain protein supports reproducible bands across immunoblots and consistent staining in IF, while the unconjugated format keeps the chemistry open to user-defined fluorophore, HRP, or biotin second-step conjugates.
