ATRX is a chromatin-remodeling factor that deposits histone H3.3 at telomeric and pericentromeric repeats, and its loss is widely used as a molecular marker for the alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) phenotype in human cancers, including pediatric and adult gliomas where ATRX mutations frequently co-occur with IDH1 and IDH2 alterations.

This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against ATRX, supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum and validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human and mouse samples. The antibody produces a predominantly nuclear staining pattern that aligns with ATRX's role at constitutive heterochromatin.

Researchers commonly deploy it to profile tumor suppressor status in glioblastoma multiforme, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and sarcoma subtypes, and to probe replication-stress responses, H3.3 deposition dynamics, and heterochromatin integrity in engineered cell-line models.

Storage at -20 °C in single-use aliquots minimizes freeze-thaw loss of activity, and the unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with fluorophore- or enzyme-conjugated secondary antibodies for multiplexed imaging, immunoprecipitation, or chromogenic detection on FFPE and frozen tissue sections.
